D.El.Ed. is a 2-year full-time diploma course. Candidates who have qualified 10+2 or equivalent examination
from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply. Admission process for the course comprises an entrance exam. All candidates who qualify the entrance exam are called for counselling. Based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam, personal interview and marks obtained, he/she will be provided admission into the course.
The first part focuses on preparing teachers with a broad knowledge of the subject areas and the second one includes principles for child development, education practice, a study of school pedagogy and the role of a teacher in the grooming of students.

D.El.Ed. course covers teaching skills, historical patterns, some philosophical theories, and current classroom trends. After studying the history and evolution of education, many prospective teachers can identify the context of such practices and how they have been most effective. It also pinpoints the reason behind prior state and federal legislative policies along with establishing a purpose for the credentials that are required to become a teacher today.
